Trenching & Excavation Safety Training

March 23, 2017

8:00am - 12:00pm | 1:00pm - 5:00pm

Equips employees with ability to recognize and the knowledge needed to eliminate or control hazards associated with excavation work.  Students must demonstrate proper use of the regulation to complete a study guide covering Subpart P of 29 CFRR 1926. They must also demonstrate the ability to perform the two basic soil analyses necessary to classify soil. They must satisfactorily complete a final test reviewing the information covered.  Strives to express the true nature of the hazards associated with excavation work by means of case histories and local examples. The subject matter is designed to familiarize experienced and beginning level employees with key terms and regulations associated with excavation work. It will help all workers identify the correct principles and practices used to design, to construct and to work safely.

Attendees must attend all 8 hours to receive credit for completion.

Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner, Dana Murphy, will provide information about the Oklahoma Underground Damage Prevention Act and the recent updates that took effect in late 2016, as well as how the OCC will begin enforcement in the future.

Mock Line Strike Demonstration

March 24, 2017

2:30pm - 3:15pm

The full lifecycle of a pipeline excavation incident will occur in a drill format.  One-Call, excavator, locator, pipeline operator and emergency responder responsibilities pre-excavation, excavation and post incident responsibilities will be covered in this drill. Air Evac Lifeteam will have a helicopter on-site, Norman DP, FD and EMS will also a part of the mock incident.

Closing Session

Members of the organization will share current trends that are happening across our state as well as what things are coming in the future that may affect you.  You won't want to miss this important information sharing sessions.  We will also be drawing for prizes that include a home theater package.
